Over the past months, Fred has had the pleasure and privilege to play with award-winning Aboriginal Australian artist Gurrumul - at the Barbican Hall in London, UK, in Zürich, Switzerland and most recently in Australia. Some photos from the shows in Canberra and Sydney have been added to the photo gallery here on the website.

KinboM, not KinboRN

It seems the Dutch promotor of the Sarah Blasko tour has misspelt my surname, so for the shows in Rotterdam, Nijmegen, Utrecht and Amsterdam, I was billed as Fred KinboRN, rather than KinboM. An easily made mistake, as "rn" looks similar to "m" in lower case lettering. At the Amsterdam show the other night, an audience member remarked that he could not find much info on the net for Fred KinboRN. So, for the people googling "Fred KinboRN", I will type this misspelt surname here a few times, so that they may end up here on the Fred KinboM website: Fred Kinborn, Fred Kinborn, Fred Kinborn, Fred Kinborn, Kinborn, Kinborn, Kinborn, KINBORN! ;-)

The tour supporting Sarah Blasko is going great - the audiences have been amazing! Just about to go and soundcheck for the second show at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. Quit My Job EP release date and cover

I have just enjoyed playing my first gig in Australia (Sydney), where I have also had the "Quit My Job EP" mastered by top mastering engineer Don Bartley. The release date for the EP is 22 August 2011 on Sotones, and here is the cover - a photo taken by Guillaume Gautier:

Hope the summer is treating you nicely! Just a little update here to say that Fred has been busy writing a bunch of new tunes lately and the trio are planning to go into the studio in the early autumn to record. The new material is very different from the mood of "Hedgehogs & Elephants" - for some previews of the new tunes and updates about the album's progress, watch this space and make sure to join the Fred Kinbom mailing list if you are not already on it.
